Diva's weekly challenge#237-Guest Post by Charlotte Carpentier, CZT

This week on Diva's challenge , we had a challenge from CZT® Charlotte Carpentier. She wanted us to "Find something to use for a stencil, gather your dye and spray, sponge, Q-Tip, etc. and make yourself a string. Revel in the discovery that different natural dyes, like wine or hibiscus tea, will look different on different papers. Then tangle them. You can even stay inside the lines if you like or go completely outside!"

I decided to make my own stencil. Here's a picture of it.

I used a syrup made from dried Kokum(its used a lot in Konkani cuisine to add some tangy flavor). I used a toothbrush to spray the Kokum syrup onto my tile. The color was bright pink when wet and then sort of took on a brownish hue as it dried. I took a photo when I had just finished spraying.

I used CZT® Carole Ohl’s Featherfall and Suzanne McNeill’s Feathers.

Keep tangling!

  1. Save that stencil, it is lovely! Love the fact that you used a toothbrush to add your color. This is a wonderful, creative tile.

  3. That is truly beautiful. I love what you cut out and using the toothbrush to spray is something that I am just learning about. Thanks so much for participating.
